I can spend hours in here just enjoying the music and looking for those old school tunes I grew up on! From old school HIP HOP, "the good stuff" to the blues, jazz, funk and soul! What ever you get into there is something for everyone. Magazines, games, DVDs, CDs and so much more. Great place to shop for yourself or gifts for someone else! Even if your not looking for anything in particular, pop in and have a look because you never know what you will find! Thanks Real Groovy! You guys ROCK!!!!
The best place to get some cheap vinyl, such a great selection of new and second hand lps and eps. You can always find a rare gem for a great price. Real Groovy is always the first place I hit up when I want a new record and I can spend hours trawlling through the massive selection. Such a gem, go out and support it!
Real Groovy is a music store like no other. Up at the top end of Queen Street, you got to make an effort to get up there but it's well worth it. No visit to Central Auckland is complete without a trip to Real Groovy. Acres of music, new and secondhand, with bargains galore. They'll buy your old stuff too. There's also cool muso stuff, books you wouldn't find anywhere else, clothes, DVDs, games and loads more. Open 'til 7pm and 9pm on Fridays so no excuse. Go there.
I often get the feeling Real Groovy just misses out on being a truly great record shop - but they're still standing so they must be doing something right. Sometimes the high prices they stick on rare second hand records are staggering, but then they generally seem to get sold. Good stock turn over with regular on-going specials mean there's always some new stuff lurking around.
So relieved this place has (so far) ridden out the store. It's selection of new vinyl and cd's is no better or worse than JB Hi-Fi but I will never tire of the joy I get from browsing their 2nd hand bins for cheap vinyl and out of print cd's (yes I still buy the odd disc.) This place deserves your support, and so do the friendly staff.
