The Red Cross is the largest humanitarian organisation in the world, with the New Zealand Red Cross dating back to 1914 when money was raised so that medical supplies could be sent to New Zealand troops overseas. Today the New Zealand Red Cross has over 10,000 volunteers, with 5,000 members and 90 branches nationwide who support those in need both at home and abroad.

Run by a friendly team of volunteers, the Papakura op-shop sells everything from second hand clothing to accessories, homewares, toys, bric-a-brac and more. Raising much needed funds for the organisation, donations are also accepted.

        The Papakura community is quite diverse, this is reflected in the quality of the goods you find here. You will quite often a designer label which has been donated to the store by one of the Karaka locals. The store is large, there are none of the aroma's often associated with second hand clothes.
