Ripe Deli came into being six years ago when Kiwi-born-but-English-raised Angela Redfern decided that Grey Lynn and Ponsonby had a deli shaped hole in it.
Angie’s philosophy is simple: she believes in offering fresh, quality, healthy food that is good value for money. With a little bit of creativity, Angie and the team in the kitchen add an innovative touch to traditional recipes. Not even mum can cook a better smoked-fish pie or serve up a more mouth-watering bread and butter pudding!

Ripe is my go-to when I'm in the mood for something delicious and healthy! As a vegetarian, it can sometimes be difficult to find an array of choice in one place, but Ripe has multiple delicious vege options for me to try. I'd really like to try their take home dinners too, I'll have to stop off next time I'm driving through.
When I'm in need of an energy lift, Ripe's raw beetroot salad is my absolute go-to. I love the fact that the juicy root vegetable is complemented so perfectly with the crunch of pepitas (pumpkin seeds) but most importantly, I love how clean I feel when I've eaten one of this nutritious, whole-food goodness. They've been around for a long time but when it comes to great salads, Ripe is like a fine wine - it simply gets better and better with age.
