For 20 years now Sabato has been introducing gourmet goods from Italy, France and Spain to New Zealand palates. There is constantly something happening in the showroom with monthly cooking classes by some of the country’s best chefs and ‘meet the maker’ events offering the chance to meet suppliers and taste their products.

On Saturdays and Sundays drop by for free cooking demonstrations where you can watch one of the staff cook a dish from start to finish, taste test the result and take the recipe and ingredients home to try for yourself.

Came here for their little market day, was great! These guys specialise in beautiful food/ingredients sourced from countries such as Italy and Spain. Selection in the store itself is impressive. Cured meats, olives, lemoncello and so much more. The little market day was fun, they had some stalls outside the store, these provided tasters of some of the products. If you need some good ingredients for your recipes, you will find authentic, quality items here.

Unique, delicious ingredients foodies.

This is such a cool shop! Better if you’re rich, but even the monetarily challenged like me can find something reasonable… or at least it’s great fun to browse. I went on a Sunday and they had samples out of just about everything. Perfect place to buy fancy chocolates (try cudie catanies, holy goodness!!) or the ingredients for a posh dinner party.

Thank you for such lovely remarks. The Cudie are rather delicious and you would be likely find the Venchi Rhum cuneesi quite tempting as well.

Sabato is a long-standing institution for Auckland foodies! And with good reason! They have a great selection of specialist pastas, cheeses and cooking ingredients, like saffron and squid ink and truffle. Always have tasters on offer to sweeten your visit and the staff are really friendly!

The best one stop shop for those gourmet treats

so many choices for those foodie friends to buy for Christmas

My secret indulgence - could spend hours tasting and creating my next dinner party menu and guest list at Sabato

you have to visit Sabato. Excellent range of imported produce with generous tasters. This is a must visit shop for quality luxury ingredients.

What an incredible place!  The staff are always so friendly and encouraging to try new things.  I love that so many products are on display to sample before you purchase - it really does, unfortunately, mean I often find new things I simply have to have in my pantry that I was previously unaware of.  This is a foodies paradise and an amazing place to go if you are catering for special guests or a dinner party.  Most taken by the frozen chocolate croissants & other pre-made delights that can be stored in the freezer ready to pop in the oven for those special occasions so guests could perhaps be forgiven for think you had been slaving in the kitchen for hours previously.

Going to be a yummy dinner!
