A super cool country Italian place with a local feel. My kids love it here as they cater to their needs with their own menu! It’s not about chicken nuggets here…. The kids got to choose from grilled fish and spaghetti bolognese to name just a few dishes on offer. Great parking and nice staff. The wine list is brilliant and if having dinner here, you must try the slow braised beef….yum! It literally melts in your mouth… As for the squid? That’s tasty too….I could go on and on.
I was pleasantly suprised by the service i received. It was a fantastic experience from the beginning to the end. We were greeted by a friendly staff who seated us at a quiet table. We were not rushed to order and were given our space. We ordered the calamari was crispy and the lemon aoli was just the right dip.I had the veal for the main course and my friend had the chicken breast. The chicken breast was tender and moist and the veal was cheesy and crusty. The portions were generous and left us fully satisfied. We ended with a chocolate soufflé which was just rich enough and a perfect end to a perfect meal.
This is a good local restaurant to have-unpretentious and friendly and serving tasty food. We have been here several times for dinner and have enjoyed it each time. They are happy to have families there and they provide colouring sheets and pencils to keep them happy. The pizza is good-but I would recommend sticking to the more basic ones as otherwise it can be a taste overload. It always has a nice vibe and the parking is easy, which makes a nice change in central Auckland!
I have friends who live nearly so often meet up for brunch here. The pizzas are good, the pasta gets the big tick from the kids, and I love the eggs benedict. The coffee is good too. I like to sit out in the 'conservatory' part where the sun can shine in but not the cold wind that often comes with it in this city. They provide crayons & colouring in pics for the kids and we all can enjoy a peaceful Sunday brunch.
