Along Ghuznee Street, you come to Satay Village, with a classical Malay style menu done with plenty of skill. Taste is easy here and you cannot find something that you will enjoy, any of the mee goreng or nasi gorengs will do well here!

Perfect for smaller groups, Satay Village’s food is speedy, tasty and filling - and super cheap! I recommend the vegetable curry or mee goreng.

A slightly different mee goreng - this one’s got a tomato base, unlike others around the place. Nonetheless, delicious - and spicy! The menu is full of excellent and cheap dishes.

This place is great for a casual BYO and because of Satay Village’s popularity as a take out shop, you mostly get to avoid large, rowdy groups of BYOers. The food is cheap and cheerful, I love their satay sticks and chicken wings!

Mean feed

There are a heap of Malaysian restaurants in Wellington, but this one is a goodie. It’s good and quick food at fairly cheap prices, so perfect if you’re dashing off to a movie or are just really starving. Most of the entrees are deep fried like many cheap restaurants, so if you’re not into that dive straight into the mains. The rendang and roti chenai are high raters.
