Seriously the best South Indian food I have ever eaten, have a curry with a Mango Lassi - you will not regret it!

Satya has three restaurants across Auckland but by far the most popular for takeaways is the Great North Rd branch of this fabulous homage to South Indian food. I love Satya’s takeaway meals because South Indian cuisine is much more more healthy (meaning less cream, less buttery) than its North Indian counterpart, which means it’s not a case of once on the lips, forever on the lips when you indulge in a weekly takeaway feast from here. If there’s only one dish you order, make it count with the chickpea, tamarind and yoghurt starters. Soooo good!

Satya is my favorite place to go for a great fresh and flavourful curry that still feels healthy and comes at a great price for a filling lunch meal. Definitely try the Dahi Puri at least once. #foodfave

Amazing food!!

I've only been to Satya a couple of times but the food was amazing - and honestly one of the things I love most about the place is that they offer free meals on Christmas day. That sort of community mindedness is rare and deserves to be supported - which is what Localist is all about, right?

Nice one Simon! You're exactly right - and I didn't know about the Christmas day offer, that's awesome!

If you haven’t heard about Satya then it may be possible that you have been living under a rock. Shake that moss from your shoulder and call your friends, if you love South Indian food then prepare your taste buds for a whole new experience. This is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted, fresh, authentic and flavoursome. You are going to want more. This is the kind of place that you will need to come back to again and again, everything on the menu sounds amazing and its difficult to decide. If you go with a bigger group I’d recommend everybody ordering something different and sharing with the table, its the perfect way to get your first taste of Satya.

Def a must try ! amazing and greta value

Love the entrée. It looks great and it tastes great as well. Their takeaways are quite good, too.

Satya is great if you are looking for something a bit above your average Indian restaurant. I was surprised by the really good selection of starters and got to try some different things. Authentic atmosphere and I've heard the dosa are a must try so will be back for sure.

The most divine and authentic South Indian food in gorgeous surroundings at affordable prices
