Spark Arena is a multi-purpose event centre attracting top homegrown and international acts from the entertainment and sports worlds. Costing $80 million to build, the first concert took place on the 24th of March 2007 when Rock Star Supernova performed.
The venue has since hosted big names including Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Justine Timberlake, along with sports events such as WWE, UFC Fight Nights and Skycity Breakers games.
The arena seats 12,000 people and can be adapted to various styles and sizes with function rooms and the Tuning Fork events space also available for hire.
Products and specialities
Vector tends to host most of the large international bands when they tour and is a great, spacious venue with plenty of good seating, if you get in early enough, and tons of standing in the main arena if you feel like dancing. It is a well oiled machine so getting in and out is a piece of cake - prepare to queue for drinks however! I've recently seen the Manic Street Preachers and The Stone Roses there, both great gigs and the sound was excellent.
