Friendly place

A place to chill, laugh and dance with your friends ! Meet lots of new and fun people try a few cocktails and let ur hair down.

First time eating at Stampede - its a bit expensive but its well worth it - the food is terrific and the service is excellent. The environment is great - its like a real steak house..

I was really looking forward to visiting Stampede after hearing you can sit on saddles at the bar. You certainly won’t miss this place as you approach – it’s like the O.K. Corral in the middle of Papakura. They’ve put a lot of effort into the aesthetic and it works really well – boulders and succulents down the side of the building, saddles in the entrance, bucking broncos on the television screen, bar menus set in a lump of wood and the staff wearing cowboy hats. The bar menu is very cute – saddle sore skins, lasso onion rings and cactus flower. There weren’t that many wines on offer, but I’m guessing this is more of a beer or cocktails place. One end is the bar area, with a separate open sports bar (must be smoking section too), and the main part of the venue is the grill restaurant. Lots of burgers and sizzling steak coming out of the kitchen. There’s another part of the venue next door which looks like it’s a bar/club and takes up about the same area as the main bar/grill. There were quite a few families having dinner when we visited, so I’d be interested to visit later in the evening. There was a poster for an upcoming Winter Wonderland event, with some good DJs playing, so they must get a reasonable crowd.

This place is awesome, it's got a great atmosphere with lots of fun! The whole place is themed as part of a country western/rodeo style place complete with cowboys, rodeo on TV and staff dressed as part of a country western film.We even got to sit on saddles at the bar, which was great! Imagine a rodeo style chair (without the bucking of course) complete with saddles. It was a great laugh! The staff were cool, very friendly and helpful offering food and wine matches. The food looked and smelt awesome. It wasn't the busiest period we were there (just before dinner) but I can imagine it goes off. They had specials on stone grill which was awesome. I definitely would return if not for the great food and service, the lovely warm fire but also for the fun theme of the place.

Guess we couldn't be called frequent visitors to Way out South Auckland but were heading to checkout Hunua falls and thought let's stop off for lunch. Using the entertainment book as a guide found this place. Basically it's a bar / Resturant themed in a country American style much the same as lonestar. The similarities don't stop there with similar menus and sizes of meals. It was lunch on Sunday and we were pretty much the only ones there but it had just opened but nevertheless the guy running it was very friendly and kind to our 1 yr old and keen to share his pride of being a recent uncle. The food was big and tasty and overall the experience very good. As mentioned my local knowledge of this area would be minimal to say the least but should we be back out here and hungry I know where to go.
