    At Stephen Marr, they can make you walk out feeling like you've had a makeover with just a simple wash and cut. They constantly consulted with me about my options and how I felt with the length and shape. Loved my experience here! #hair

      If you love your hair colour to look effortless, flattering and totally natural, you can’t go past the ammonia-free colour range from O&M at Stephen Marr. It’s hair and planet friendly and doesn’t have that telltale colour ‘smell’, and the in house colourists are real stars.

        Stephen Marr is the place to go for your all of your alternative lifestyle haircut needs. Coat check that leather jacket and get yourself tucked in to one of their chairs, in the next 45 minutes you will be transformed into a brand new you. Girls don’t be afraid to ask for those sides to be shaved number one, go as short as you want, you won’t have your hairdresser questioning your decisions like you do at the salon down the road from your childhood home. Gareth is the god of alternative lifestyle haircuts and comes highly recommended. Go on - live a little.

          First stop of my top to toe makeover would be a cut at Stephen Marr. As well as being fantastic stylists, you get looked after very well - from a firm head massage while your hair is washed to the perfect coffee(or wine if you prefer)while sitting in the hairdressers chair flipping through the latest fashion magazines.

            You need to book in advance but the wait will be worth it at Stephen Marr. Some of the best stylist in town work within these walls and they can offer you the best advice on your choice of haircut and colour and of course execute it to perfection.

              I've had my fair share of bad haircuts trying to do it on the cheap, and am sold on the fact a good one's worth springing for. Stephen Marr may be a little pricier than your average barber, but their prices are on parr with most other salons around Auckland - and high standards mean you'll leave with a great cut / colour every time. Also, they'll trim your fringe between cuts free of charge, and are just all 'round a great group of people.

                  When I first moved to Auckland ten years ago and needed a hairdresser, Lauren at Stephen Marr was recommended to me and I have never gone anywhere else since. The salon in Ponsonby is an Auckland institution and has seen many of the best stylists and colorists pass through the doors with many still remaining. The salon is large yet warm and welcoming and I love having my hair washed while relaxing on the sheepskin lined recliners in the washroom. There are stacks of the latest magazines to browse while having your cut, colour or treatment and plentiful refreshments on offer - they make a great coffee! The Stephen Marr staff are always aware of international trends in hair and fashion so you are guaranteed the very best in style and service.

                    Stephen Marr is hands down the bes hair salon in Auckland. From its polished pseudo industrial interior to their staff they are constantly delivering excellence. Adele gave me the best cut and colour I have ever had (which is hard to come by when you have fine hair). She listened intently to what I wanted and surpassed what I was envisioning. The wine and olives are always a nice touch too!
