There’s something so old-fashioned, in the best way, about going out for dessert - and Strawberry Fare’s retro feel is perfect. Centrally located on Cambridge Terrace, this is the go-to destination for a sweet treat in Wellington, and as such a popular place to take guests to the city. Fun fact: it used to be a funeral parlour, but don’t let that put you off.

Yummy and very pretty desserts

Strawberry Fare is amazing!! I come here just for the dessert alone, and always make sure I eat no dinner beforehand because these desserts are huge. I can recommend the banaffi pie, the caramel hazelnut torte, the creme brulee, the warm raspberry drenched chocolate cake and the blackforest tower! All so good.

Death By Chocolate. Need I say more? Not for the faint hearted!

best desserts in town and portion is decent size too!  try : creme brulee or their top 10

There's something profound about being fed way too much chocolate at a late-80's styled restaurant.

Mention the words 'Strawberry Fare' to any sweet-toothed Wellingtonian foodie and chances are they'll regale you with wide eyed tales of banoffi pies and sticky date puddings. Wacky, over the top and firmly tongue-in-cheek, an 80s vibe pervades both food and decor. Genuinely pleasant staff add to the feel good factor. Main courses and lunch are on offer here too but it is impossible to look past the endless choice of sweet goodness on offer here. Strawberry Fare has a firm sense of identity and is, for me, one of the most memorable dining spots in the city.

Cheesecake for lunch - awesome!!!

While they also do main meals, you don’t go here for the steak. Strawberry Fare has become a Wellington favourite for its sickly sweet, over-the-top and oversized desserts. Expect to pay up to $20 for a plate, but unless you’re a crazy sweet tooth you can probably do one between two.
