Headed along to TONZ opening night, and after sampling Giapo Gelato and dining on Rick Stein's Malaysian Kitchen cuisine, stumbled aross the Taste corner. And right in the corner was Whoopie. According to their website Whoopie [pies] are available in 8 flavours. But as the lady listed them off, she got to Red Velvet and I said "Whoa... You had me at Red Velvet!" So I gave the lady a fiver and was away with kiddish grin and all! Check out the pic! For those of you that have yet to sample, a place on Ponsonby Road - Rocket Kitchen - do a Red Velvet cake.  Just as yummy!

Yummy will try it out when I go tomorrow love red velvet cupcakes!!!!

Went along to opening night with my trusty grabone ticket voucher and entered heaven! Headed straight to my food mecca - Rick Stein's Malaysian Kitchen... My three favourite things being, Rick Stein, Malaysia and food! Had the grilled snapper stuffed with a shrimp and lemongrass curry paste and the nasi goreng with grilled lime chicken. Cost a fair bit but the flavour took me straight back to KL. Where's that next Air Asia deal!

Went to Taste this afternoon.  We had a great time and got to sample some great food and drink.  We went to one of the chef demonstrations from Michael van de Elzen from Molten and the Food Truck tv series and would fully recommend that as something to do.  They seem to have about 3 of them each session and ours was really interesting with useful tips and easy dishes and he was very funny too.  The only downside for us was the line to get in was a bit slow and once in it was a bit difficult to know what you were supposed to do - I briefly looked at the website the night before to get some help but that was not so helpful.  Some stalls accepted crowns, some cash and some eftpos - would be nice if that was made clearer. All in all a good way to spend the afternoon though!!!  Plus it was lovely weather - which always helps.

We love taste :) Amazing people and good times!

best time, wish I'd made my folks come along

Just got here, checking in at the Localist combi and the food smells amazing... off to eat. Yum.

I've been to a few Taste's around the place, but this one takes the cake. Amazing food and drink that I've never heard of but now am a #1 fan of. If work would allow it I'd come back tomorrow.

Great vibe, lots of awesome stands and a good spot in the sunlight at Victoria Park! Get down and check it out!

Raving from the lovely localist stand at taste of NZ.  Having a lovely afternoon.  recommend it for any foodies out there.
