The Brantry screams European sophistication - and a convergence of European and NZ cuisine. I have a lot of love for this place - the heart and soul of Taupo sisters Prue and Felicity Campbell. I’m a big fan of their italian -inspired Pasta Mia Spinach, lemon and Ricotta Pansotti with seared Scallops wrapped in prosciutto, cauliflower cream, dressed rocket. Probably not the best for my waistline, but amazing on my tastebuds!
This place serves up perfectly sophisticated seafood dishes. I’m a huge seafood fan having grown up on a tropical island, right by the sea. I love the way The Brantry prepares their prawn tails entree - cooked to perfection with cococut and tamarind, and accompanied freekeh, crispy shallots, coriander, radish salad, spiced watermelon. I usually follow this teaser up with this Summer’s fresh market fish of the day prepared with artichoke cream, capers, roasted cumin carrots, cucumber salad butter sauce. So much YUM!
