good price nice food

Exceeds expectations!

Delivering on their promise of "truly awesome food", this little chipper in Sandringham is a consistent award-winner and prized for its daily fresh fish. There is another branch now open in Westmere so if you live on the other side of town you can also enjoy their deep-fried delights. I also love the fact that the batter is so light and crispy that it never feels sinful and if you are wanting to be healthy, you can opt for your fish to be pan-fried or panko crumbed. Delish!

It's no surprise that this shop has won a bunch of awards for their fish and chips. The batter is light and crisp, the fish is always fresh and the well-sized chips are as perfectly bronzed and salted as you could ask for. The emphasis here is on creating a healthier version of this kiwi staple with minimal grease and oil which makes for better flavours too.

This place does great fish n chips it’s no where near as greasy as most

Great tasting nz goodness. Best fish n’ chips I’ve had a real long time!

This is most probably one of the best f n c shops in all of Auckland. The fresh is super fresh and cooked perfectly. I love how this shop has incorprated Kiwi tradition and a little bit of class. The shop is magical clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and very quick at putting together your order. I love seeing a que of people here, always a sure sign its a good place to go!

Everything about this meal was perfect, the fish, squid, scallops, chips were all cooked just right it was Delicious!.  not to mention the free extra fish and sauces did not go unnoticed! If you go here you have to try the salt and pepper squid! the best i have ever tasted!

The problem with reviewing fish 'n' chip shops is that, well, there's rarely anything to write home about. It's fish - it's chips. (Sometimes a burger.) Greasy and cheap. If there's any more to it than this, it usually falls more into the seafood restaurant category than it does your corner shop chippie - where quality is championed, price usually fails and vice versa. That's where The Fish & Chip Shop really won on all counts - a unique level of quality with reasonable pricing. Tasty batter with a smattering of herbs and salts to make it just that little bit different. Home made aioli and relish available, as well as some NZ-made bottled soft drinks and a fresh fish counter. Just enough to make it a little extra in your ordinary. That's all there is to it.

I live across the rd and when i first moved in I thought…wow how horribly expensive….BUT i really dont mind now, since Iv tasted how yum the food is . Service is great and sometimes its worth paying extra for yummy less greasy fish n.chips. Fish is fresh everyday and really worth the try. I highly reccommend. Although it does get very busy so plan to wait for a bit on the weekend!
