The Fish Pot Cafe has been an institution in Mission Bay for as long as I can remember. It's a little on the pricey side, as you would expect from that neighbourhood, but the fact is the fish and chips are delicious and worth every cent. I'm a fan of snapper and this place usually has really fresh pieces that are perfectly complemented by crispy chips. No wonder it's a firm favourite.
What would a ‘best seafood’ list be without the perfect fish and chips joint? The Fish Pot Café in Mission Bay is just that. You can dine in, but the restaurant itself is not much to look at. The fish and chips, however, are top notch! I’d recommend grabbing takeaways and heading across the street to enjoy them on the beach. Ahhh, summer.
Getting fish and chips and hanging out at Mission Bay is one of the must do activities in Auckland. The Fish Pot Cafe is the best place to purchase the edible part of the equation. Although slightly more expensive than your usual ‘in the burbs’ takeaway store it is always fresh and the menu extensive. Sidenote: experience best enjoyed with sun and companions.
