I love love love The French Cafe’s Religieuse au Chocolat - divine choux pastry topped with creme patissiere, and of course chocolate fondant. I haven’t found religieuse au chocolat anywhere else in Taupo, so I’m a popular visitor to The French Cafe’s counter. Come Easter hols, I’ll also treat myself to a bowl of hot chocolate too…just to cover off all chocolate bases.
French is my first language, and I love all things French, so you can imagine my delight when I came across The French Cafe in Taupo. Gorge on delectable fresh french specialties including bakeries and pastries. Great pain au chocolat, religieuse au chocolat and tarte tatin. The setting also has great outdoor dining spaces.
