With a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Fully licensed bar and TAB and pokies the Hairy Dog is the place to go in New Plymouth if you're after a some classic Kiwi hospitality. The team behind the bar keep the drink specials rotating throughout the week and whatever sport you fancy on the TVs, so there's always an excuse to head down and have cheeky punt and a couple drinks.

The locals are a bunch of characters who bring the place to life, and the drinks are cheap as chips - meaning you'll have plenty of pennies left to head to the next spot or come back later in the week for more!

I love this place, it has great food, nice beers, and pokie machines. I’m not much of a gambler myself but I do know a few people who would make this place their new watering hole! They often have bands playing on certain nights so it’s definitely worth going in for a pint or two!
