For a long-time I've enjoyed a standing Monday lunch date with one of my best friends, whom I've known since we were teenagers, and the place we always choose to go is The Mexican Cafe. It's because we've both been in love with this legendary Auckland establishment since we were young teens. I love that The Mexican Cafe is a perfect little haven away from the hustle and bustle of Auckland's CBD. And ever since I first set foot in here at the age of 14, the food has continually delivered. Most recently, I've fallen in love with their great value $10 lunches because the special includes my favourite dish from this restaurant - the devil nachos. And the devil certainly is in the detail with these little beauties because they are sprinkled with those heat-seeking missiles that make Mexican food so awesome - jalapeño chillies.

    My go to restaurant with friends! Love being able to get almost anything from the menu made gluten free and delicious as well - still a rare thing! #myfoodbag

        The Mex has been here for 30+ years and never fails to please. Love mexican food it a #foodfave and the food, service and atmosphere at the mex is always pleasing whether in a group or just the two of us.

          Amazing food, amazing drink and amazing service. I find any excuse to visit the Mexican Cafe! Chicken fajitas, cheese dip and margarita is the #foodfave

            The perfect 'special night out' for students! Affordable, sizeable meals, awesome service and most of all, delicious!!
