This great needlecraft store is in Mt Wellington and is a treasure trove of all things crafty. My mother is an avid stitcher and loved her visit here. She did not leave empty handed!

    Ribbon Rose is quite frankly the best needlecraft shop in Auckland (dare I say, in the North Island?) They have a massive selection of charts, kits, threads and fabrics and the staff are knowledgeable and very friendly/helpful. Every time I visit, I feel like I'm entering Aladdin's Cave :)

      For someone not very crafty helped point me in right direction

        Unlike many embroidery stores in New Zealand, which are filled with designs and kits dating back 10 years, the Ribbon Roses has the latest designs and the latest materials. The prices are a bit cringe-worthy, but if you're not an online shopper I'd strongly recommend visiting them. And even if you do shop online, The Ribbon Rose is a great place to browse, and often discover things that are very hard to find online. Check it out!

            I love this shop, its full of little bits and bobs for tapestry, cross stitch even rug making kits.The people are so happy to help and their knowledge is endless. If you need a special gift for a female member you really need to stop by.
