Cosy and unpretentious but still a bit special. This bistro is located in a lovely old building on Tinakori Road. You’ll be sure to enjoy delicious food with great service to match!

Go and see Wendy and Jason for your next event if you want to make it an awesome experience. They can do it all, from BYO to full catering in their restaurant with plenty of space for all your guests in their stylish function rooms upstairs. Scrumptious, delicious and various other just don't do Tinakori Bistro justice.

Over the weekend, my baby sister celebrated her 21st birthday in style. She chose to go for the elegant family dinner with friends, and what better place to decide on holding this birthday, than at the Tinakori Bistro. With it's unique character, its old fireplaces, wooden floorboards and ceiling to floor rail curtains, this was a quaint, yet elegant restaurant that peaked our interest. With a measley(!) 35 people dining, the staff put us in one of their upstairs rooms, which was the best option for them, considering how loud our speeches were! We decorated the room in pink and white balloons and made it feel like 'hers' for the night, and bought in copious bottles of wine, thanks to it being a happy BYO restaurant.  We chose a set menu (the cheapest being $50 over the weekend), and each chose one of the four options for entree, dinner and dessert. I went with the seafood chowder, as I'm trying to be adventurous these days, thanks to a sweet My Kitchen Rules obsession, so this created and instilled a new found love for Salmon in me. I then had the steak with mashed potatoes and bearnaise sauce. It was amazing. There aren't even words to describe this, except that maybe I wish I could have fit in three more platefuls! As you'll notice, there was no photo of the dessert, the sticky date pudding, looked so ridiculously pleasing to the eye, that I had no chance to even take a photo before I had devoured the entire thing.  All in all, our time at the Tinakori Bistro was great. The staff were very hospitable and we had a waiter tend to our every need at all times. The only qualm I would have had, is when you wanted to exit the premises, there was a tight squeeze to get past the till, and the additional people dining in the main restaurant area. This was fine, but not so good for the likes of my 38wk pregnant sister! The staff at Tinakori Bistro made up for this by charging only $5 corkage fee for each bottle of wine, rather than their normal $7!  Definitely recommend, not for those on a tight budget though, you must be prepared to go all out, here!

Nice little bistro, just off the hustle and bustle
