If you're tired and cold from a day on the mountain, or just want to relax and soak in tranquil surroundings, Tokaanu Thermal Pools are for you. Located in the village of Tokaanu just minutes from Turangi, it's a great stop for locals and visitors alike.

There's a heated public pool and children's pool alongside. For those wanting a more private (and hotter) experience, there are a range of private minerals pools to soak in. Time's limited to 20 minutes per session (any longer and you'd get too hot, it's typically around 41C!).

Outside is a free thermal walk and stream (look out for trout!).

This is a fantastic place to take the kids after a day in the snow. There’s also a special children’s pool right alongside the deeper adult pool so parents can keep an eye on their kids while relaxing in the hot thermal waters on Takaanu.
