Tony’s restaurant is located in the handy city central spot which makes it a great place to meet up with friends or family if you’re like me and live at the opposite ends of Auckland from most friends. On this occasion I ordered the chicken breast which I had with mashed potato and salad. A simple dish but it was really good, I love pub food. The restaurant itself is great, it is very old fashioned pub-like/steakhouse (surprisingly as that what it is) with wooden walls and brick walls. Makes you feel like you are in an episode of Coronation Street but without those hearty accents.

My grandfather ordered the fish of the day and stated that it was "too stringy" whatever that means but he also has high standards for restaurants. I know this restaurant has been around longer than I've probably been alive but it seems a little tired. The service is fantastic and the food is more like nice pub food rather than 'top' restaurant type of fare. Not one of my favourite places but I do go to a few dinner invites there with friends/family and it's not awful so I would never decline the invitations based on the food.
