Tree House Backpackers Lodge

Located on the north side of the Hokianga Harbour sits the Tree House. A retreat style eco lodge surrounded by beautiful forest and permaculture inspired gardens. Having everything you need including kitchen, bathroom and laundry - making for an awe worthy home away from home! Affordable and unique this is a must see spot for any backpacker wanting to see a bit of the North. Just remember that if you’re driving from South Hokianga, there is a ferry. This backpackers rocks my socks. Everything from tip to toe was warm and fuzzy - from the receptionist who showed me around to the best ever backpackers I met there. It was a great social hostel that had a nice communal spot for hanging out when you wanted a chill day, which wasn't often as there's so much stuff to explore!

The Tree House Backpackers Lodge provides a fantastic base from which to explore the stunning Waipoua Kauri forest, nearby galleries and beaches. Staff are friendly and accommodating and the lodgings are clean and cosy.

Lovely stay, very zen and nature-y.

This beautiful, secluded environment with hosts offering the type of friendly hospitality Kiwis are renowned for is something a little different in the backpacker world. No television, but a super-comfy reading loft, it makes a great place to chill and recoup.
