I love this place. It’s got a little jetty that juts right out onto the lake with bean begs on a pontoon to lay back on with a cold cold corona. It’s a perfect spot for watching the sunset over Mount Ruapehu on hot summer nights, with the water right at foot’s edge. The thing about the Two Mile Bay Sailing Centre is that it’s so chilled - making for a perfectly relaxing sunday arvo out with your man/woman/friends.

I don't think you can live in New Zealand not love sailing - and every Kiwi should give sailing a try at least once if they're physically capable. The Two Mile Bay Sailing and Watersports centre has some great two man sailboats on hire to give young ones a first taste of 'open water' sailing, and what it's like to be Dean Barker. The centre also has a whole bunch of paddle boards and kayaks as well, so provides a good source of activity for kids during the school holidays.

Beer and wood-fired pizza = the perfect casual dinner. This is the perefct spot for a pizza on a weekend afternoon. Located on the water in Taupo’s Two Mile bay, this place offers you a good, simple, pizza menu without all the fuss. My favorite is their quatro staggioni - capsicum is always a winning pizza flavour!

This place is AWESOME for a casual Summer feed. Head over there on a sunny afternoon, have a few beers and a couple of delicious wood-fired pizzas while looking out on to, right on to, the lake. The staff are super friendly, many of them Greek on their OE - and incredibly entertaining! Best of all, the pizzas aren’t pricey and definite value for money!

If you’re in Taupo, then your kids love being on the water (generally). Take the whole family out for an afternoon sailing the small sailboats. You could even hold your own sailing race…winner shouts the delicious woodfired pizzas served at the Two Mile Bay cafe and Bar. A good afternoon of sun, lake, fun, and yummy food to top it off.
