After being made a fan from the Takapuna branch of this Umi, I went to look online for the other stores. This is one of them. Tucked away in a corner in the Elliot on Atrium. They had a good range of the $1 sushi pieces, my favourite and also had a rice cake stew that I'm quite fond of. Definitely worth finding this store if you want good sushi and are nearby
So much sushi to choose from and what a great price too at $1 a piece ! I love the salmon and avocado - this is my favourite and I always go for it each time - the seaweed salad is a realy nice option too and so tasty - I love it !! Good size sushi rolls too and are bigger than most other shop's sushi and at a better price. Nice being able to mix and match the varieties that I like to eat rather than getting a pre-packaged one ! Love the miso soup too - always feels nice and hearty and healthy too - especially on the cold day it makes you feel SO GOOD inside !
Great sushi place that always has a very large variety of fresh, tasty and affordable really make this a winner in my book. My mate Simon and I always come here for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a midnight snack. I have to drag him away because he loves the sushi here so much! If it wasn't so darn affordable we would be absolutely broke and have to resort to busking on Queen Street for money, which doesn't sound too fun.
If you work in the city or visit frequently this place is a must for 5 reasons Always fresh Always quick Always nicely presented Always superclean And most importantly the sushi is always only a dollar EACH and there's so much variety. Its a must if you love sushi and have some spare change, Best Sushi in Auckland.
I started working in the CBD recently and I was finding all the sushi places around rather mediocre until I got recommend UMI Sushi by a colleague of mine. You can find UMI sushi tucked up behind Burger King on Queen street. They have the freshest of sushi and such a large selection of sushi. I'm constantly trying different kinds and there is always a cue out the door, which is a good sign. A must try!
