Victoria Park is a wonderful place to come and have a picnic with the family and enjoy the panoramic views of Christchurch, the Canterbury Plains, Pegasus Bay and the Southern Alps.

Tree planting is a traditional activity
in the park. As a result, Victoria Park has seen birds come back including the grey warbler, fantail, bellbird, and the silvereye, who are all commonly seen and heard.

There's also a permanent orienteering course, which you can trek on.

Note that the closing times of the park vary throughout the year. Please check the signage for up-to-date information.

Picnic with a view if the Alps. Tree planting has brought back beautiful birds, Permanent orienteering course, Dog friendly.

Fenced area in the Cashmere Hills. It contains: rocky outcrops, grasslands and steep climbing ridges to exercise your dog. A great place dogs will love, there's fresh drinking water and even doggy doo disposal bins! It's open from 7.30am daily with closing times of 6pm in winter and 9pm in summer.

Victoria Park is a favourite for both dogs and people. This safe and friendly dog park is always populated with humans and their furry friends. It's located on the Port Hills so you're bound to exhaust yourself chasing your little pet all around the park.
