Waikanae Beach stretches along the coast of Gisborne. This is the beach that sees the sunrise first and it is absolutely an amazing place for it. Generally Waikanae is a calm beach, an ideal place for an afternoon swim on a summers day.

Tired teenagers and frolicking families fall in love with this typically Kiwi beach. With holiday parks and ice-cream shops dotted along the coast, you don't have to go far once you've settled on to this hot stretch of sand.

One if the most stunning beaches in Gisborne. Its urban and accessible and absolutely stunning with views across to Young Nicks Head. It’s classed as a safe swimming beach with a wide grassy foreshore so is ideal for a barbecue.

    Gisborne’s beach is a long and beautiful family-friendly stretch of white sand. It can be a wild walk on a windy day – but all the more exciting – and it’s just a short distance from the town centre and connected by the city beachfront cycle and walkway. It’s free to enjoy and has amazing views across Poverty Bay to Young Nick’s Head.
