Western Springs Park is a large wildlife sanctuary located 8 minutes drive from the CBD. Surrounding a lake fed by natural springs, facilities include walking tracks, drinking fountains, picnic tables, BBQs and a kids playground.

Situated beside major attractions including Auckland Zoo and MOTAT, the stadium has hosted big name international acts such as the Foo Fighters and Eminem.

The lake is a refuge for the orea eel, with many native trees and bird species to be found in the park including the Pukeko.

Check out the annual Pasifika Festival, one of numerous events held onsite.

Got to love a day with the kids, the bikes/scooters and a couple of packets of bread, then ending the day with a play on the playground...

    Take some old bread to feed the birds and load up the kids bikes for a fun day at the park. Good paths for kids to ride on.

      Let the kids enjoy the sun, ride the scooters and fed the ducks

        Good spot for the Fam, feed the ducks and right next door is Motat & Auckland Zoo

          Great place to spend time. Very nice and relaxing watching the birds and kids play area.

            When the weather’s nice, a picnic at Western Springs is just the thing. Bring a ball, soak up the sun, and bring some extra bread to feed the ducks. Just watch out for the big geese! It’s the perfect place to chill out after a trip to MOTAT or the zoo.

              On a sunny day this place is awesome, take some old bread and let the kids feed the ducks and eels. have a walk around the lake and have a quick play in the play ground with some awesome animal noise from the zoo. This is defiantly a hit

                A good place for a family day out especially for the young ones....duck ponds..eels...birds...the list goes on...its just amazing
