Westfield Queensgate, known locally as the Queensgate Mall, is the largest shopping centre in central Lower Hutt.
The shopping mall first opened in 1986 before a big redevelopment in 2006. Inside you can find everything you need without going outside. Including a supermarket, cinema, food court and over 170 speciality stores of fashion and accessories.

People give the Hutt a hard time but it’s really not bad at all. Queensgate is a great place to go on a rainy day, especially when you have errands to run and things to get. Shoes, bags, gifts and clothes, you’ll most probably find what you’re looking for here. You can also get a hair cut, go to the bank and do your groceries without taking a step outside! 10 points for convenience!
The food court in this shopping mall holds almost anything edible you could desire. From the healthy to the not-so-healthy, the oriental to the kiwi roasts, and even a stall dedicated purely to vegan cuisine, you are sure to find something that hits the spot. Did I mention all the parking for this mall is free?
