Whale Bay is what you'd call the private popular beach around the Tutukaka area, mainly due to it's lengthy distance from the road. It's a personal favorite and I've been coming here since I was a kid! It's about a 15 - 20 minute walk from the car park to the bay itself but it's worth every step and has some amazing views on the way down!

    I can't believe I've only discovered Whale Bay recently. It is the perfect beach. Stunning white sand, deep azure water, and a beach rimmed with low pohutukawa branches for children to sit on. This place is an absolute dream and a must if you've got visitors you want to impress.

      After an easy bush walk to reach the shore, it’s easier still to just lie back and forget the world in this secluded little spot.
