I love going to Whitcoulls at Sylvia Park. The whole family can find something interesting in this store and I like the wide variety of books that I can't find in some other book stores. #plantae

I was really sad when whitcoulls took ownership of this one but I have to admit, they're pretty impressive.

this is my 3 year olds favourite shop .. staff are friendly and hel[ful and really knowledgeable, nothing is a problem for them they always take the time to explain / communicate and always have a great instore experiance and in the holidays they usually have activity time for the kids this is always so much fun for them and educational

They have an awesome area for kids here. My son especially loves the huge angry bid bean bag! Oh and the books, and the train set…

My son loves to play here, they have a great space for the kids. He especially loves the giant Angry Bird bean bag, we couldn’t pull him away from it!

Just went in here yesterday and was really impressed with the upstairs floor.  The whole floor has been dedicated to kids with a really awesome selection of books and toys.  Great quality toys that I haven't easily seen elsewhere.  They also had lots for kids to do eg toys they are allowed to play with, colouring in competitions etc.

Love the great array of bargain books and the kids section upstairs is fantastic with a colouring in station, plus you can sit and have a coffee.

We love this store :).  It's a must-do before going to the Hoyts Cinema next door.  Upstairs is a great kids area - plenty of space for running and skipping and hide and seek as well as extensive, unbothered browsing.  AND the staff don't seem to mind you wandering around with a takeaway coffee.  Top team. Oodles of free parking at Sylvia Park. The only beef is, of course, the ridiculous price of books in New Zealand.

The Whitcoulls, formerly Borders, is huge and has a great range of books, magazines and other miscellaneous products available. Prices are consistent with other stores, and the selection of books is comprehensive.

Whitcoulls Sylvia Park is huge! There is a massive selection of books to choose from and it's presented in a tidy and organised manner. The upstairs section often has displays for kids that change out, which could be something to check out if you are a parent. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help you look for something. A great way to spend your time if you are waiting for a movie to start in Hoyts next door.
