The Woodville Ferry Reserve is located at the end of the magnificent Te Apiti-Manawatu Gorge. Maintained by Tararau District Council's Woodville Domain Board, the reserve is situated beneath the Ballance Bridge with access through a gate off State Highway 3.

The large grassy plain is a favourite with local families and is suitable for picnics and various recreational activities. There is a freedom camping ground located onsite, along with a small wetland area planted with native trees.

The reserve allows easy access to the Manawatu River which is popular with swimmers and kayakers.

A beautiful place near the Manawatu Gorge, a great place in summer for swimming and a picnic with the family. Self contained motorhomes are welcome to stay, toilets are available

During the summer you will find us here daily with our dog. It is the best place to take your dog in the area because there is so much room for them to run around without getting in other people's way. The road is far from the reserve so it's safe for both the dogs and kids. Our dog loves the river and it's normally calm so perfect for the dogs to chase some sticks and swim in!
