Yaruki Japanese Restaurant - Henderson

One of the best if not the best and most authentic Japanese places around! Absolutely one of my favourites and I have never been disappointed there!

If you want the best-value bento boxes in all of Auckland, get on the North-western motorway and hoof it to Henderson. Yaruki is hard to find, which is why it is one of west Auckland’s little gems. But locals know that if you locate the Dutch Cheese shop on its main street, you’ll find the little door that takes you into the world that is Yaruki. There is only one thing to order here - their lunch or dinner box, depending on what time of day it is. Because the lovely thing about these great value boxes (from just $25.90 each) is not just the traditional Japanese favourites that arrive at your table - think succulent teriyaki chicken, light yet perfectly crunchy tempura and katsu and lip-smackingly good sashimi and sushi rolls. There’s also a wonderful theatre to the whole evening because the contents of Yaruki’s bento boxes just keep on coming - a never-ending story of awesomeness! Plus if it’s your birthday, the staff will gather around and sing happy birthday loudly before offering up a complimentary sweet treat. There’s also another Yaruki on the North Shore in Brown’s Bay.

These guys have the biggest and best bento boxes around. Make sure to grab the special lunch box.

The food is just fantastic! Delicious Japanese food, which is light and a pleasure to eat. I would recommend Yaruki in Henderson a million times over. If I'm being completely honest, the service used to be a little slow, which we didn't actually mind as the wonderful food made up for that. However, in recent weeks we've been there a couple of times and I must say they have improved so much in the service department and we are really impressed by that. The waitress is attentive and our food is coming out very fast so I'm happy to say that everything about this restaurant is great! I have never been disappointed with a meal and my family and I go the regularly. A+++

Love the decor and atmosphere in Yaruki. Sushi and bento boxes are prepared fresh and very reasonably priced. Worth a visit in Henderson

I must say I don't expect  to find good japanese food in West Auckland when we just moved here. But now we are the regular at Yaruki. Food is great and never fail. The service is very nice and sometimes we will get a small gift from the owner. Very sweet. Highly recommended local restaurant. 

The staff here are awesome. The food even better. So fresh. So delicious. I personally think this is the best Japanese in Auckland!!! Try the salmon wrapped in Cucumber.. it's so tasty!!

I love Yaruki. I have been coming here for over ten years and it never fails to impress. The food is right up there with the best Japanese in Auckland and the prices are awesome. The service and the staff (who remember your name) are so wonderful. If you haven't tried Yaruki then you are really missing out!
