Yoshi is a small family-owned Japanese restaurant located at the heart of Merrivale serving up some of the tastiest and freshest Japanese food around town. Whether you're after a quick sushi snack or a sit down sashimi meal - Yoshi is a great option with an extensive and delicious range of Japanese meals on offer.

The hospitality here is warm and attentive making Yoshi a relaxing and inviting option for a long sit down dinner with friends and family. Otherwise if you're in a hurry get your food takeaway and bring the taste of Japan to the comfort of your own home.

TIP: try the stuffed shitake mushrooms, these things are next level tasty.

A wonderful wee Japanese restaurant in the heart of Merivale, Yoshi fits on a handful of people which means it's an intimate and really quite fun place to spend your evening. The Japanese food is delicious and the staff are friendly and offer prompt service. Definitely a place worth returning to.

    On a rainy spring evening midweek, too many places seemed to be full for the evening. Thankfully, I and my partner stumbled across this gem, and we were glad that we couldn't get in anywhere else. Quitely tucked away on Papanui Road was this authenic restaurant with succulent japanese food - calm music and warm tea on the side. Although I enjoyed the quiet, this place definitely deserved far more people! One of my favourite restaurants!
