Would you support a night market in the car park under the Mt Wellington Countdown?

I'd love to go to a local market on a Friday night,as there is already a night market on Saturday night in Pakuranga and one over the shore on a Sunday.

I like the idea so much that I would try to organise it!! So if there is enough interest from both patrons and stallholders then I'll approach the supermarket with an offer they cant refuse!

In the same vein as the Pakuranga night market, there could be food, live music, stalls, and great family fun.

Tell all your friends and family-the more responses the better our chances!

  • I peformed at the Pakuranga Market a couple of weeks back, it certainly was buzzing, apparently around 10,000 people drifting in and out throughout the night. I understand the guy who organises it (and Glenfield) has a new one planned for Dressmart in Onehunga too. I just wonder - your proposed Mt Wellington venue is rather close to Pakuranga which is of course already well-established, could that be an issue?

  • Great to hear you performed there- I go there every fortnight, and they always have good live music, love it!Yeah, I know it may be a big ask,but I wouldnt be trying anything as big unless there is enough interest.Maybe just local people selling bric-a-brac with some food stalls as well to start? Maybe there's a good reason why there is no market there? Dont know, but I'd be willing to give it a good go if I get the support.
Just something for the Mt Wellington locals to do on a Friday evening- walk to the market, grab some food, listen to some music and buy some bits and bobs.

  • I love the idea. I have been going to both markets once a month and the vibe is great. I would love to see one open up on a Friday to at least give some more flexibility to go to a market once a week.
