"Audrey Gale Reserve is located within Merrilands Domain, quite a popular walking track in the area. The best part about this place is that there’s not only one BBQ area, there’s two with a wood burner fireplace! All you need to do is supply the wood, no gas required, I love that! There’s heaps of nice shaded areas if it’s just too hot and it’s nice to see the Waiwhakaiho river away form all the traffic for once!"

"Who wouldn’t enjoy a picnic in summer surrounded by beautiful flowers and giant hanging trees with a zoo right next door? Brooklands Park has all of this and more, including the Bowl of Brooklands with a lake full of cute little ducks! It’s a really lovely atmosphere that is so peaceful to be in; even if you bring kids that run around and scream, you still feel relaxed and present in the moment!"

"Beaches are some of my favourite places to go and chill out, either with a small picnic and a book with just my own company, or a huge basket load of food with some friends, East End Reserve is no exception to that love! They even have a gas BBQ you can use on site, AND a skate park; you could spend all day here and not get bored! The waves are a bit bigger out here so proper supervision will be needed for the kids, but it’s perfect for the surfers!"
