Get some jazz in your life with Creative Jazz Club every Wednesday night at 1885 - you won’t regret it. Very classy.

Cool barstaff who know their stuff and can whip up some amazing creations

Creative Jazz Club - aka CJC - is a classy way to while away a Wednesday. Located downstairs in 1885 and typically about $10 on the door, each week a new jazz ensemble will woo you with their hip tunes, baby. All the cool cats know this is the place to be...

1885 Britomart plays host to some great live music events, including a new weekly night by the name of Music & People. The format is simple, each week a different local band will sit down and spin some yarns before playing a stripped back set. Later local djs and electronic artists will kick off an ‘after party of sorts’. This unique concept is coupled with great food and beverage specials. Defenitely worth a look.

“We write this every month, but this time I firmly believe (unlike other times when I lied) that this is one party you don’t want to miss out on.” - Some DPTRCLB guy.     Joining these slick yo’ pro’s for this special holiday issue: Totems, Leno Lovecraft, Goldblum, DPTRCLB DJS =  ALWYS A RLLY GD PRTY.  Keep in mind that doors don’t open till 12am. Cool kidz don’t party til late, yo.   WHEN Technically it’s Saturday morning but we’ll call it Friday night, 12am-EARLY     COST  $10

Good night out for dancing! Bit strange that the VIP area is busier than the bar though!!!

Guest DJ's, a few too many people, and a great cellar with more space and cooler music means that you should probably go here more often. If you're into mid-nineties mainstream and underground hip hop, you'll love it late on a Saturday night!

1885 in the Britomart Precinct is one of the city’s slickest venues. Beautifully designed, it was a hot spot from the moment it opened its doors for a variety of reasons. It has a selection of DJs spinning an eclectic range of tunes most nights, as well as live music with a jazzy feel a few nights a week. The venue also has three distinct function spaces and a maximum capacity of five hundred, making it a great place to book for your next party or gig.
