Once considered a dodgy part of town, Aro Park is now a popular spot for those looking to relax in the sun. Or you can grab a spot in the shaded picnic area where they can enjoy fish ‘n chips bought across the road.

There is room to kick a ball around with the kids, read your book or just enjoy a little bit of people watching. Because due to the eclectic mix of folks that call Aro Valley their home, a bunch will likely be relaxing in Aro Park too.

You might even meet Lola, Aro Park's most famous feline patron.

While it’s dingy and dodgy at times, Aro Park is fabulous on a sunny day. After all, you can pick of fish and chips, coffee or food nearby and picnic with ease. Over the warmer months daytime weekend markets and sometimes free outdoor concerts tend to pop up in the park, it can be a lot of fun under the right conditions. Don’t forget about the Aro Hall next door either.

Lola, the lovely cat who makes Aro Park a little bit more special. She roams around Aro Park and is possibly the friendliest cat. At the park there’s a basketball courtyard with a cool mural and a community centre.
