Arthur's opened for business near the corner of Karo Dr and Cuba St at the end of last year. The owners, Mary McLeod and her daughters Anita and Ondine, named the establishment after nearby Arthur St. The three ladies are also the brains behind the more girly, Martha's Pantry, so it was a natural move to start up something opposite nearby. Arthur's is open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday to Sunday and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday.

When I was taken to Arthur's by a friend I was bewildered not to have noticed it before, sitting at the top of Cuba St. The place is charming and rivetingly decorated. The staff were very friendly and took great care of us, so much so that when it turned out the lamb shank I wanted was unavailable, they gave me a complimentary sample of their roast lamb, which was superb. I thoroughly enjoyed the cheese rolls for starters, and then the chicken schniztel for the main. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect winter shelter. I'm excited to explore it again.

Totally agree! We found this place by chance and don't know how I haven't noticed it before either!

The yummiest date scones, hearty fabulous food on the menu and friendly staff. What a cool little place to visit for brekky, lunch or dinner!

By sheer serendipity we stumbled upon this place nestled away at the top of Cuba Street. Well worth the visit. Can't help but feel like you're sitting in Grandma's house enjoying some good honest cooking.

Cuba street has turned it on Again with this gem tucked away at the top of Cuba!
