One of Auckland's more recognisable features, the Auckland Harbour Bridge is more than just a stretch of road joining Central Auckland to the North Shore. From bungee jumping to fishing under the bridge, there's more to it than meets the eye, and it's a great way to spend an afternoon, wandering around the path that leads underneath.

It's rare not to find people sitting with their fishing rods in the afternoon under the Harbour Bridge, and trevally can be caught there as well as the occasional kingfish if you're lucky.

If you want to catch snapper from land then one of the most ideal fishing spots in Auckland is under the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Known by avid anglers as one of the best places to go when the fish are biting, you are almost guaranteed to get something on the hook. Plus, it’s a really cool fishing spot to take kids because they can watch all the action on the harbour if the fish aren’t taking the bait.
