Brake discs are the friction partner to brake pads. So it is obvious that both the quality and condition of brake discs are decisively responsible for the functioning capability of the brake. The condition of brake discs must be examined each time the brake pads are checked. Each time it falls short of this minimum measurement it is dangerous and leads to failure of the brake system. Discs which are exactly at or just below the minimum are to be changed for reasons of safety. A brake disc should have the same residual service life as the new pad.
