Despite Ponsonby going posh there is still one bohemian hangout left. Cezanne has being going strong for nearly 30 years. Current owners Jackie and Rod believe in offering good value meals in a relaxed and causal atmosphere. The breakfast servings are huge and stacked with protein for those foggy mornings. There are gluten free meals with a good range of vegetarian or vegan options.
Private rooms are available for birthday get-togethers with uncensored speeches. Check out the $20 Sunday to Tuesday dinner special with a complementary glass of wine or beer.

Cafe Cezanne got a really bad wrap when Target from TV3 accused them of selling contaminated food. They have since apologised and retracted the claim. It’s a bit of a shame because I always enjoy having herbal teas and coffee at Cezanne. I still like going there for their organic orange cakes and the interior has a great hippy vibe.
