If you want the best pastries in the Wairarapa, this is it! Everything is made by them on premises so you know you are getting really fresh food! A great place to stop off for a coffee and a treat on your way through Carterton!

    This lovely cafe serves up delicious cakes and flaky, buttery pastries to die for, like pain au chocolat. Stop in during the weekday to satisfy or book for Friday and Saturday night when there’s a dinner menu for authentic, French bistro food. Try the classic creme brulee, it’s sure to satisfy.

      If you manage to escape for Easter weekend and are driving through Carterton then make sure you allow time to stop in at Cafe Mirabelle. This retro cafe cooks all their food fresh on a daily basis depending on what they have picked up from their local suppliers. This means their menu changes on a daily basis although the one thing that stays constant is how good it is. And even if you only have time to stop for coffee and cake, it's well worth the detour.
