The service is fantastic the staff are so friendly and make you feel apart of the little killa family! The food... well.. BEAUTIFUL especially there plum loaf and savory brioche if your just after something small. Highly recommend it to become your local especially if your in the balmoral mt eden region!
Cereal Killa on Auckland's Dominion Rd holds its own with a fantastic and varied menu. For a unique and hearty brunch option, try the savoury mince & butterbeans on potato rosti - absolutely delicious, especially when teamed up with one of their excellent coffees (beans by 8.30), or a fresh beet, apple, carrot and ginger juice.
Came here the other day with my friends as they have raved on about it before, and I am happy to say that I can do the same. There are lots of breakfasts to choose from and I especially love it how their menus are on the back of cereal boxes. The staff was very patient with me as I have a few allergies, and they whipped up an amazing breakfast. Yum!
I just had lunch here with my best friend and two very little children. The staff were friendly and welcoming, despite the fact that they were obviously rushed off their feet from a busy lunch shift. The menus are on clipboards made form recycled card, and when I praised them our waiter confessed he'd nicked the idea from Nikau in Welly, so props for giving credit where it's due. I like the space here, the walls are bright and white, the artworks amazing and sparse, so it feels uncluttered, mismatched chairs, with punchy coloured cereal boxes arranged for effect, I'd sum it up as 'quirky minimal'. There are crayons and colouring in books for the little ones(well done), and though at the end of the day, not much was left in the cabinet, I still got to drool over some amazing chocolate slice, a very pretty apple pie and anzac biscuits. The menu was choice. I found it hard to choose. I settled on a prosciutto and salmon salad on potato rosti. My friend chose the beetroot and fennel salad. We ordered coffees and fish finger sandwiches for the little ones, fluffies, and flat whites. The coffees were amazing. The blend itself is from local roasters Eight Thirty. It was deep, rich, and very satisfying. The fluffies came with marshmallows presented in the most gorgeous little cups. My daughter was especially pleased about this. My dish when it arrived, in good time, could not have been executed better. It had a zing of citrus to balance the salmon, the rosti was golden and crispy around the edges and perfectly seasoned. The ribbons of salmon and prosciutto were arranged in generous streaks through baby leaf spinach and microgreens tossed on top. My friend had high praise for his salad, and my daughter was delighted with her fish finger sandwich, which was much more high-brow than it sounds, the bread was stellar, and the fish fingers were golden and appeared made in house. Yum. I will have to go back for apple pie next time! It looked so very good. Ten out of ten, cereal killa!
