Cima sushi is a small takeaway located in the central Auckland suburb of Freemans bay. Selling a delicious selection of freshly prepared sushi which flies off the shelves during the busy lunch hour, there are plenty of rolled sushi, sashimi and nigiri options to choose from.

With lots of choice for vegetarians, they also have a menu of hot Japanese meals including donburi, curry, tempura and udon noodle dishes.

There are a couple of tables inside if you wish to dine in, or ask about their sushi party platters if you have an upcoming event or party.

Go to Cima Sushi after 2pm to get a half-price deal and some of the tastiest, freshest sushi in Auckland. I love their fried fish sushi rolls - it’s naughty and healthy all at the same time. Plus their salmon is fresh and clean.

This cute sushi haven can be found at an awkward little spot in Freemans Bay and you will still find them completely sold out by mid-afternoon. After coming across an empty Cima at 2pm one day and having experienced a Cima-full-belly, I’m now a firm believer that this little treasure has some of the freshest sushi in town. It’s a grab and go kind of vibe inside, perfect for the busy pen-pushers of Auckland. Note, if you get there at the right time (right before they are “all-out!”), the lovely Cima crew will cut you a deal - picture a full, doubled-up sushi box for $5. If that’s a gamble you’re willing to take.
