Absolutely LOVE these markets! We are so lucky to have this in our City, and I always rave about it to friends and family. It's always a tough choice each Sunday between the roti wraps, Vicki's dumplings, Big Bad Wolf, and some of the delicious pastries and sweet treats.

variety and colour filled quality

cute market, great food!

If you can force your sleep deprived eyes open early on Sunday morning then get down to the waterfront for the City Market. Coffee, sweet treats, fresh fruit and other delicious delicacies await. Bring cash and make it easier on everyone too.

Between The Ramen Shop serving up the best ramen in town, and The House of Dumplings serving up the best dumplings in town, you could call The City Market a win just off these two alone, but no, an incredible selection of boutique food supplies, deli items, ethnic delights, and Martin Bosley's Bacon and Egg sandwiches await.

Come in early each Sunday for an ever-changing showcase of food and drinks from local producers. From wine tastings to cooking classes, demos from the professionals to teens selling lollies, City Market has a lot to offer. Come for the incredible House of Dumplings. Yum!

The first time I headed past City Market on a Sunday I nearly died and went to heaven, actually, maybe I did. Anyway, I spent around $40 on breakfast, which is really too much to spend on Breakfast, but I just didn’t care - so much deliciousness, so little time.

Get some fresh sea air with a waterfront stroll. Grab a snack from one of the many stalls and walk or sit, or if you’re up to it, purchase some veges and other food to get you through the next week. Who says a hangover can’t be productive?

How’s this for cheap and romantic: a casual stroll around the waterfront on a (hopefully) sunny Sunday morning, checking out all the cute dogs hanging at the market, and sampling local cuisine while stocking up on your fruit, veg and other food for the week. Bliss.

For the best artisan products and freshest fish this is the place to go if you really know good food.
