A friend told me about this store, and i just feel in love with it. They have so much gorgeous stuff , I went there to find souvenirs for going back to Canada for a holiday and I was able to find everything that I wanted. I really like their Kauri selection of crafts, they are just so well done and really represent NZ.
I make special trips out to Westgate just for this store. There is such a huge variety of hand made goods, from food to jewellery to soaps. Its great to spend a lot of time and really explore each aisle, there is so much to see! My favourites are the hand made soaps and candles and I love picking up a home baked treat as well. It’s also lovely to feel like you are supporting small New Zealand businesses!
LOVE CraftWorld! CraftWorld is like a massive indoor market full of tiny, individual stalls. The stallholders pay a fee so they don't have to be there and there's one paydesk at the front of the (huge) store. So wander in, wander around and wonder... We use this place for souvenir gifts for visiting relatives - it's head and shoulders above the run of the mill souvenir outlets. Soon there'll be coaches of tourists turning up to it but they haven't found it yet so until then it's all yours... The variety, and the sheer volume of variety, is what makes this place worth a drive. Anything souveniry is here only better because all this is NZ-made and individually crafted, not mass-produced. But there's more... There are large pieces - beautiful tables, massive canvasses, sculptures... If you never been here before, come and see, it will be worth it. CraftWorld is at the Westgate Shopping Centre off SH16 so there's easy access and heaps of free parking. Did I mention that they'll give you a FREE COFFEE? There! You're glad you read to the end now aren't you? ;) http://www.craftworld.co.nz/
