Deville Cafe opens for evenings in the summer, on friday nights and has regular live gigs on Saturday nights - usually advertised. They support original local talent, national and international touring artists as well as appearances by ensembles from the Nelson Jazz Club, usually free of charge. The place has a lovely vibe, a good sound system and great service. Wonderful venue for a summer evening out.

If you need a place in Nelson City to combine coffee/lunch/dog walking Devilles has a good fenced outdoor cafe area. I take a blanket for the dog as the concrete can be cold but it’s easy to tuck him away under the table and relax and enjoy my coffee.

This cool and trendy cafe has good wifi and a choice of indoor or outdoor seating, so it’s a great place to park up on a sunny day with the laptop and work in a relaxed environment. Good food and coffee as well - the date scones are legendary.

Deville do a yummy Caesar Salad: Caesar salad with bacon, greens, poached egg, anchovy and grana padana on toasted brioche with either roasted garlic or blue vein aioli for $18. You can add chicken or smoked salmon - always fresh and very tasty.

This is a great favourite all year round but in winter the outdoor area is heated with big gas heaters, and they provide blankets for your chilly knees. There’s also plenty of warm indoor space, a great breakfast and lunch menu, and once a month they have live music on a friday night. Excellent cheese scones and great blackboard menu.
