Eatery on the Rock is a restaurant and motel sitting high on a rock overlooking acres of beautiful gardens.
Enjoy an intimate dining experience, or hire the entire venue for weddings and functions. Friendly hosts Pat and Chris use only the best in-season local produce and you can tuck into a range of tasty meals either inside or out on the veranda.
They also offer accommodation with luxury island-style chalets, each with its own private patio and garden.
The venue once hosted the Hobbit production team which they used as a base when filming the movie.
Restaurant hours vary seasonally.

If you need somewhere to eat before or after a movie at the Village Theatre, the Eatery on the Rock is a good bet. It ranks no.1 on Trip Advisor for restaurants in Takaka. The food is excellent - tasty and interesting, lots of choice. The service is excellent and the hosts, who also run an accommodation business on site, are very friendly.
