Must try the beef tataki!

Hands down, the best Japanese cuisine in Auckland. The food at Ebisu is to die for and the atmosphere is lively and upbeat. Located in a very convenient place, with bars either side, Ebisu is definitely the place to start a great evening out. As a group of eight, we fit nicely in a booth and had a great time sharing the food.

Found it!! The nicest Japanese food served in Aucks!! Had our work Xmas dinner here and it was absolutely stunning. Great atmosphere of people and a nice touch with the dj. More importantly… THE FOOD was outstanding from wagyu beef slices to pork belly and roast duck to tempura, it was abso delicious! Would love to return again REAL soon!

This trendy Japanese eatery definitely stands out from others in it's league - it's a little bit posh but still very friendly and the food is incredible. Stand-out dishes definitely have to be the pork belly lettuce cups (tonkatsu no cup) and the duck with pickled pear (kamo no yakimono), but everything on the menu is worth trying once - not that I've been able to work my way through the whole thing in my two visits yet! The service is friendly without being over bearing and the bartenders definitely know their stuff. Great selection of wines and beers on offer and of course, being a Japanese restaurant, you can't go past the sake. The vibe in here is very cool and they even have a DJ on Fridays (and Saturdays?) - I definitely recommend this place, especially if with a group. It's not the cheapest but it's affordable and you get what you pay for!

I got a voucher to eat here so thought i'd try it out, it's so good! It's Japanese Tappas essentially so you order lots of food and enjoy a variety from the menu. Excellent service and meals here, and a lot to choose from. The food arrives really fast too so you just keep ordering as it arrives and clears. Great for groups, although the price will get quite up there pretty quick.
